About Us

For over 10 years I have been a homeschool mom to 5 amazing daughters.  I fell into homeschooling when my oldest was in kindergarten. Homeschooling was never part of our plan, nor did I know any families who homeschooled.  What I have learned is that homeschooling is the best way that I can support my children as they learn, flourish, and follow their passions.  

My eldest daughter started kindergarten at public school and two months in, I knew it wasn't the right fit. She was bullied, sad, and most days unable to focus or learn. I knew I had to do something that would give my daughter the best opportunity that I could provide for her to succeed. I turned to the idea of homeschooling, but I didn't know where to start. 

At the beginning of our journey, I was terrified: I immediately thought, what have I done and how am I not going to fail my child? I enrolled my daughter in a homeschooled public school and eventually in an Independent Study Charter School.  Due to the support of homeschool teachers: step by step I became comfortable with my role as a homeschool parent. My daughter started soaking up her lessons, enjoying learning games, and developing interests. We went to park days, teacher meetings, field trips & outings.  My daughter received an individualized learning plan (ILP) that mapped out her daily goals/ activities. She also received support in areas where she needed help.  

Homeschooling with 5 kids has been an interesting, rewarding and fun journey. What I have learned, is that learning does not have any confines, nor time constraints, and the biggest gift we can give our children is a love for it. We as a family have tried several homeschooling schools, curricula, hybrid models, and enrichment activities: I hope, by sharing what I have learned, I can help other homeschooling families and/or those new to the homeschooling community.
