Abcmouse.com offers a customizable learning path where parents can set & monitor their child's progress. They also have an extensive library where children can follow their passions and interests through their love of reading. This has been one of my go-to activities for my younger kiddos as it helps build a foundation for learning starting with letter and number recognition. My daughter loves to go on the Abcmouse.com app and it has truly helped her take charge of her learning at a young age as well as develop interests.
Adventureacademy.com is for kids around 8 and up although my younger children thoroughly enjoy it as well. It has almost a video game feel where kids have an avatar whose movements they can control in a campus setting. There are chat options that parents can turn on/off in parental control and kids can also interact via their avatars with friends. It has really neat video lessons and engaging books. My daughter loves the science experiments and math activities. Super fun bonus site that we use especially during summer months when my parental goal is to keep learning fun and prevent the summer slide.
FREE resource alert!!!! Freckle.com is a great resource for K-12 which covers core subjects specific to your state. With your free parent account, you can create child profiles at each grade/ learning level, monitor each child's progress, assess areas where your child is doing well and where he/ she may need help. You can also designate assignments with due dates. Additionally, their website works well on my daughter's desktop/ laptop as well as on the App Store and has some engaging avatar features to keep kids' interest. Freckle is a great parent find definitely worth checking out!
If you dream it, chances are that Outschool.com offers a class in it. My daughters have taken several classes on outshcool.com from Beginning French, Phonics & Sight Words to How to Make a Bento Box classes. Many of the courses are taught by credentialed teachers/ instructors and the platform offers informative reviews. Pricing varies depending on the teacher & class, but overall the costs seemed reasonable.
TeachYourMonster.org by The Usborne Foundation is a fun and accessible way to get younger learners excited about learning to read and fundamental math. It has a gamified feel that got my 1st grader excited about learning this summer. Best of all it is completely FREE!
