Acellus.com is a completely online program that covers language arts, math, science, and social studies for grades K-12. The program also offers foreign language courses and electives. What I love about Acellus is that it is self-paced, so your child can take charge of their learning. There are special lessons incorporated into the courses that help provide students with opportunities to dive deeper into each subject.
BeastAcademy.com offers a complete math curriculum (in online and workbook formats) that teaches kids through challenging their problem-solving skills. Some fun monster avatars take them through learning activities, video lessons and challenges. I use Beast Academy to supplement my children's core math curriculum and as a full curriculum for my youngest. They have found it to be a great bonus that challenges the mind through inventive puzzles and engaging lessons. An absolutely fantastic math resource!
FREE full curriculum at CK12.org including all core subjects and for all ages/ levels of learning. We are incorporating this curriculum for Life Science this year and are having a great time learning. Create a teacher/parent account and "Class" for your kiddo(s) and add/create assignments it's that simple (students age 13 or over do not need a teacher/ parent account). The learning possibilities on this site are unlimited and abundant.
IXL.com is a thorough program covering all core subjects including Spanish. They offer grade-specific standards as well as standards by State and weekly planning. I find the curriculum to be well laid out, thorough, and easy to use. The lessons/ activities include a "learn by example" or "learn by video" option. This is a fantastic resource if you are making sure that all topics/standards are covered and met during the school year.
K12.com is a thorough and comprehensive program. They offer a set curriculum, textbooks, manipulatives, workbooks, an online program with daily planning. The science and history courses come complete with reading materials, lessons and hands-on activities as well as experiments.
Wow, KhanAcademy.org is a great website for every age and it is FREE. Khan Academy really stepped up their offerings during the COVID pandemic and has kept learning accessible to everyone. During the summer months they have a summer school weekly program with daily activities. Parents can set the learning levels online & through their app. Video lessons teach kids in all core areas. Khan Academy has a lot more to offer with bonus seminars and electives.
LexiaCore5.com offers a tremendous bonus for phonics, reading and spelling. It helps children build on their knowledge starting with letter and sound recognition. It has weekly goals (usually around 60-80 minutes) during which kids can independently learn. My daughters all use LexiaCore5.com to supplement their language arts core curriculum. I noticed an immediate boost to my children's confidence as well as test scores.
Time4Learning.com is a completely online program that covers the basic subjects as well as foreign language options. They offer mini-video lessons: with built-in assignments, activities & worksheets. I love it because it has options to accelerate your child's learning or slow it down: your child can be in courses offered at their current grade level, the grade level above that, or below. Time4Learning is also incredibly affordable and even offers multi- child discounts.
